The North American non-residential architectural window, curtain wall and storefront window market is valued at $10.7 billion [1]. Sun Phocus estimates that, taking into account site-specific solar conditions and other design factors, the North American market potential for solar windows is approximately 25% of this, or $2.7 billion.

To gauge industry interest in solar windows, Sun Phocus conducted a survey of 250 architectural firms in the U.S. and Europe. Responses indicated a significant and immediate demand among architects and building owners to incorporate solar windows into building facades and related elements such as awnings, canopies, and skylights.

Russ Huffer, Chairman and CEO of Apogee Enterprises, Inc, a premier architectural glass manufacturer, stated in a letter of support for Sun Phocus that "we believe that with continued development, solar-powered windows in general, and the holographic planar technology in particular, will play a large role in the continued development of the market of commercial glass."
